Basket Gallery - Splash Series: I have done traditional reed baskets for many years but have been adding wire and beads for embellishments for some time. Then I tried twining with the wire and it gave the reed a totally different feel. The only time the reed needs to be wet is constructing the base. Adding the wire to these baskets, the reed becomes flexible so that I can push and pull to create different shapes. Then by adding beads between the spokes it exaggerates the shape even more. I have really enjoyed working with this combination as the possibilities are limitless by changing the color wire and beads.
